Regulatory and certifications compliance
Referring
to chapters “technical” and “user guarantee”" the deepening on the broad
theme of the observance
of regulations and obligations which the production and marketing of window and
door frames must
follow, let's anticipate briefly what are the "essential
requirements" introduced by European
Directive 89/106/EC and incorporated by DPR 246/1993 of the Italian law:
-mechanical
strength and stability
-hygiene,
health and environment
-safety of
use
-protection
against noise
-energy
saving and thermal insulation
Each of
these requirements must be certified by a licensed laboratory for testing and
the results must be reported to the user.
Much
attention should be paid to the benefits that the window and door frame should
provide for compulsory
legislation.
For
example:
·
with
regard to security, all the glass doors up to 1 meter from the floor must be
expected of accident prevention type on both sides;
·
with
regard to thermal insulation, thermal transmittance of window and door frame
must be less than the maximum table on national legal ordnance and on regional
laws already in force. In addition, this parameter is fundamental for obtaining
a tax deduction of 55% on costs incurred to improve the energy of the house.
·
with
regard to sound insulation, it is fundamental the contribution of the
soundproofing of the window and door frame to observe the minimum insulation
values given standardized of the surface.
As you can
see even from these few outline, the performance of the windows are basic in
many aspects. Therefore the choice must be prudent and supported by appropriate
documentation in conformity with the current regulation.
